# Forks and builds from strangers

> Forks are not supported. "Premium builds" from private messages are a scam

  "Premium builds", "launchers" with STAR and "optimization" files from private messages are not ours. A clean VirusTotal result does not prove a file is safe.

## Check that your app is the official one

    Official places: [getsoundcloud.app](https://getsoundcloud.app) (formerly soundcloud-desktop.fun), GitHub [zxcloli666/SoundCloud-Desktop](https://github.com/zxcloli666/SoundCloud-Desktop), AUR **soundcloud-bin**, the project's Flatpak repository. Still have the file? [Check its SHA-256](/en/install/download#hash).

  <Step title="Check the links in the app">
    Open **Settings -> General -> Help**. **Error guide -> Open** leads to `github.com/zxcloli666/SoundCloud-Desktop`, **Discord server -> Join** leads to `discord.gg/xQcGBP8fGG`. A different address means it is not our app.
