# No sound or sound on the wrong device

> Pick the device in the app's audio settings. Crackling on 7.1 is here too

  <Step title="Check the volume">
    The system volume and the volume slider in the player: it goes up to 200%.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the device">
    **Settings -> Audio -> Audio output**: **System default** or the device you need. **System default** moves to your headphones by itself when you plug them in.

  <Step title="Plug the device back in if you unplugged it">
    The app picks it up by itself within a few seconds.

  <Accordion title="There is no Audio output card">
    The system did not give the app a list of devices. On Linux you need PulseAudio or PipeWire with pulse support. This command should print the list of devices:

    ```bash theme={null}
    pactl --format=json list sinks
    ```

  <Accordion title="Crackling on 7.1, Razer or virtual surround">
    Update the app: on Windows it opens such outputs as stereo.

  <Accordion title="The sound is muffled, as if underwater">
    1. Open **Sound tuning** in the player.
    2. Click the values of **Speed** and **Pitch**: they reset.
    3. Open the **Equalizer** in the player and click the power button: it turns off.

  <Accordion title="Linux: the app changed the output for the whole system">
    Picking a device in the app changes the default device for the whole system. Set the old one back in the system sound settings.
