# Install on macOS

> Apple Silicon and Intel. One command removes "the app is damaged"

Which Mac do I have: Apple menu -> **About This Mac**. **Chip Apple M...** means Apple Silicon, **Processor Intel** means Intel.

  <Step title="Drag the app to Applications">
    Open the downloaded dmg and drag **soundcloud-desktop** to **Applications**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove &#x22;the app is damaged&#x22;" id="damaged">
    Open **Terminal** (Cmd+Space, type Terminal), paste the command and press Enter:

    ```bash theme={null}
    xattr -cr /Applications/soundcloud-desktop.app
    ```

    Without it macOS says **"soundcloud-desktop" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.** The app is not damaged, it just has no Apple signature.

<Warning>
  The **.app.tar.gz** files in the release are for auto-update. Install only the **.dmg**.

    Move the app to **Applications** first. The path in the command must match exactly: `/Applications/soundcloud-desktop.app`.

    An Intel Mac will not run the Apple Silicon file. Download the file from the **Intel** tab.
