A track downloads completely first, then plays. The percent on the cover in the player is that download. Tracks you already played or saved start at once.

Wait a minute or two

A new track can take a while. The notification The track is taking long to load is normal.
2

Switch to another track and back

Or hover the cover in the player, click Stop loading and start the track again.
3

Check the network

Open Settings -> Network -> Network check -> Check and follow the advice under the result. What the result meansCan’t sign in? On the sign-in screen click Continue without signing in: Settings is there too.
4

5

Update the app

6

Turn on Skip stuck tracks

Settings -> Audio -> Playback -> Skip stuck tracks: pick 10 s to 60 s. A stuck track is skipped by itself.
7

The same track never plays

Settings -> Storage -> Cache -> Audio -> Clear. Likes and saved tracks stay.
If SoundCloud itself is blocked for you, tracks go through the project’s servers, which is slower. What to do: The app doesn’t work with zapret.
The app is offline or cannot reach its servers: All hosts are down or the app goes offline.
Settings -> Storage -> Cache: the Audio cache limit slider is on Off, so a track is deleted after it plays. Move it to the right.
The track file in the cache is damaged.
  1. Open Offline, the Cache tab.
  2. Hover the track and click Re-download.
Or clear the whole audio cache: Settings -> Storage -> Cache -> Audio -> Clear.
  1. Open Settings -> Network -> Network check -> Check and look at the Covers row.
  2. Turn off zapret and VPN and check again.
  3. Covers are old or wrong: Settings -> Storage -> Cache -> Images & assets -> Clear.
